starting february at home

Unfortunately I had to start this February lying around at hoem. I'm better now, but still feeling a little... weary. Time goes on so slowly when there's absolutely nothing you can do...


... when the only thing you can do...


 is to lie around in a corner...

But I absolutely love these two blankets. Both are made by my mother,  the white one is mine and the granny one is a present for my daughter for her 10th birthday, partly made of the squares I crocheted late in the 1970's!

I'm so fortunate to have a warm home.

Prototyp (Hasen)monsterkuschellieschen

♥ Um diese grausamen Szenen würde ich gerne in Zukunft nicht mehr (Gut, das ist Wunschdenken... sagen wir mal: weniger) sehen zu müssen, habe ich meiner kleinen Hundedame eine neue Freundin schenken wollen. Sie soll sie davon abhalten, die Püppchen zu klauen, sobald die Kids sie raus holen ;-)

♥ To save us for these gruel scenes in the future (well, that's wishful thinking ... let's say... to have less of them), I wanted to give my little doggie a new friend. It should help to prevent her from stealing the dolls as soon as the kids get them out to play ;-)

♥ Välttääkseni tämän kaltaisia julmia näkymiä tulevaisuudessa (se taitaa olla toiveajattelua ... tai ainakin vähentääkseni niitä?) ajattelin tehdä pikkukoiralleni uuden ystävän, joka estäisi sitä varastamasta nuket heti kun lapset hakevat ne leikkeihinsä ;-)


♥ Ihr Monsterkuschellieschen hat allerdings keine Hasenohren für die kommende Saison, es trägt lieber eine coole burschikose Frisur. In Hause Maaria blaukariert, versteht sich. *g* Das vermeintlich robuste PrototypMonster ist aus strapazierfähigem Jeans- und dicken Leinenstoff genäht und mit Kirschenkernen locker gefüllt, damit es beim Hin-und herschleudern so schön rasselt...

Fotos sind entstanden NACH der ersten Begegnung... und NACH der Gerissene-Arme-Rettungsaktion... Es bleibt zu hoffen - und davon gehe aus - dass die (meisten) Menschenkinder ihre Monsterpüppchen nicht so hart in die Zange nehmen wie meine behaarte Prinzessin.

Als Fotohintergrund ein noch nicht ganz fertiges Granny -Polsterüberzug. Zeige ich dann mal später...



♥ This prototype of my coming Monster Cuddle Lizzie, however, has NO rabbit ears, I planned for the coming season. It wears rather a cool boyish hairstyle. In blue checks at House Maaria, of course. *g* The meant-to-be-robust prototype monster is made of durable denim and thick linen fabric and loosely filled with cherry stones, so that it makes these funny rattle sounds when twisted back-and-fort... Photos were taken AFTER the first meeting... and AFTER the Snapped-arms-rescue operation ... Hopefully the (most) human children do NOT treat their monster doll as hard as my hairy princess.

The background in the last photo is the not-quite-ready pillow case in granny style - I'll show it later on.

♥ Tällä prototyypillä ei ole tulevan sesongin pupun korvia, vaan rento poikamainen kampaus. Siniruutuinen, tietty. * g * Erityisen kestäväksi tarkoitettu prototyyppi on valmistettu kestävästä farkkukankaasta ja paksusta pellavakangas ja löyhästi täytetty kirsikan siemenillä, niin että se pitää hauskaa ääntä, kun se heiluu koiran ravistuksessa... Kuvat otettiin ensimmäisen tapaamisen ja käsien pelastusoperaation jälkeen. Toivottavasti (useimmat) ihmislapset eivät ota hirviönukkea niin kovaan käyttöön kuin karvainen prinsessani. ;-)

Viimeisen valokuvan taustana on puolivalmis tyynynpäällinen - näytän sen sitten valmiina.

Kitchen doilies & skulls

♥ Das Resultat bin ich euch noch schuldig. Fertig gehäkelt habe allerdings ich, nicht die kleine Hundedame. Die Idee dazu lieferte mir Amy von "chick chick sewing". Da ich zufällig Acrylwolle zuhause hatte, musste ich es sofort probieren. Sieht allerliebst aus und es funktioniert! Weg mit den hässlichen grünen Schwämmen! ;-)

♥ This is how the result looks like. The idea to these pretty little things came from Amy from "chick chick sewing". Since I happened to have some acrylic yarn at home, I had to try it immediately. It looks absolutely lovely - and it works! Get lost, you ugly green sponges! ;-)

♥ Sain virkkaustyöt valmiiksi, vaikka koira olisi mielellään auttanut. Amy antoi minulle idean näihin söpöläisiin löysin Amy "chick chick sewing" blogista. Minulla sattui olemaan akryylilankaa kotona, siispä minun täytyi kokeilla sitä heti. Pikkuliinat ovat aivan mahdottoman söpöjä - ja toimivat! Pois rumat vihreät sienet keittiöstäni! ;-)


♥ Wobei ich die hässlichen schon lange in Schrank versperrt habe ;-) und nur zum Kratzen raus hole, wenn notwendig. In die hübschen finnischen Küchentücher bin ich ja schon lange verliebt, solche wie dieses hier im Bild - eines meiner neuen - von Pop Design und die von Gallerie Ann - gezeigt hier.

♥ Jo kauan pidänkin kyllä niitä rumia kaapissa;-) ja päästän ne ulos vain raapimistarpeen vaatiessa. Olen aivan rakastunut kauniisiin suomalaisiin tiskirätteihin, kuten esim. tämän kuvan Pop Designin rättiin- yksi uusimmista räteistäni - ja Gallerie Annin iloisen värisiin - tässä kuvassa.

Relaxing wool

Häkeln finde ich so entspannend. (Auch wenn es natürlich manchmal in die Schulter geht. *g*)
Crocheting is so relaxing. (Sometimes it does hurt you neck though... *g*)
Virkkaus on sitten niin rentouttavaa. (Vaikka tokihan ne välillä hartioihin ottaa *g*)


Aber Pause sollte ich anscheinend nicht all zu lange machen, denn auch die Wolle an sich scheint entspannend zu sein, auch wenn eine(r) nicht häkeln kann...
Was aus meiner Häkelei wird, werde ich euch auch nachher zeigen!

Es werden immer mehr... Und ich habe immer noch keinen Plan, was es werden soll. Mal sehen, wie weit ich mit der Wolle komme. ;-)

An manchen Tagen fällt das Bloggen auch schwer; sobald frau sich einen Kaffee holt, findet sie bei Rückkehr ein Unschuldslämmchen auf dem Bloggersessel. Das alte Kissen - an dem ich hier gearbeitet habe - scheint ihr zu gefallen. Sie schafft es aber auch mal, mich irgendwohin zu locken, nur um dann blitzschnell auf den Sessel zu laufen! Es ist aber auch IHR Platz in der Sonne am Vormittag! Einen sonnigen Tag wünsche ich dir auch!

On some days there is almost no way to blog in peace... As soon as I get up to get a cup of coffee - she's there, taking comfortably seat on my chair. She even manages to get me to stand up - only to jump quickly on the chair. She seams to mean it's HER place in the sun in the morning. Hope she likes the pillow too - that I was making here.

Weihnacht! Stimmung in der Box

Ich würde euch gerne etwas zeigen, das ich gegen den vorweihnachtlichen Stress gemacht habe. Der Blogger dreht heute die Bilder aber wieder, und das will ICH nicht. Guckst du bitte hier.

"Weihnachten kommt immer so plötzlich. In mitten all dem vorweihnachtlichem Trubel brauchen wir immer wieder einen kleinen Moment Ruhe… und einen Begleiter, der es uns möglich macht ein kleines Stückchen Weihnachten stets in und am Herzen zu tragen. Der uns daran erinnert, was Weihnachten auch sein kann, bevor wir ganz erschöpft unter den Weihnachtsbaum zu plumpsen drohen; Dinge wie duftende Wärme, kleine Lichtchen in geheimnisvoller Dunkelheit, bis in die Zehenspitzen kribbelnde Vorfreude, heimliches Papierrascheln, eine kuschelwarme Decke bis in die Ohren oder einfach die schön-altmodische Besinnlichkeit…"

Zugegeben, die Idee an sich habe ich in Internet ein paar mal begegnet, in einer anderen Ausführung. Das ist meine Version davon! ;-)

Christmas always comes so suddenly. In the midst of all the PreChristmas hustle and bustle we always need to take a moment rest... and something to remind us a little bit of Christmas in our heart. Something that reminds us of what Christmas can be before we risk to plop under the tree, completely exhausted. Things like scented warmth, small candles twinkling in the mysterious darkness, secret rustle of paper, a cozy warm blanket up to the ears, or simply that nice-old-fashioned contemplation ... Merry Christmas! "

I've seen something like that in internet somewhere, this is my own version of these idea.

Haluaisin näyttää teille tänään jotain, mitä näpersin muistuttamaan joulun tunnelmasta. Muta Blogger haluaa nyt taas kääntää kaikki kuvat, enkä osaa niitä saada sievästi oikein päin. Joten olkaa kilttejä ja katsokaa täältä.

Joulu tulee aina niin yllättäen. Kaiken joulunalusajan hälinän keskellä on hyvä silloin tällöin muistaa pysähtyä hetkeksi… Ettei se unohtuisi, kiinnitä tämä pikku sydän muistuttamaan sinua myös kaikessa kiireessä siitä, mitä joulu myös voi olla ennen kuin uhkaat täysin uupuneena lysähtää joulukuusen alle. Se muistuttaa tuoksuvasta lämmöstä, kynttilöiden tuikkeesta, salaperäistä pimeydestä, varpaisiin asti kihelmöivästä odotuksesta, pikkusalaisuuksista, paperin rapinasta, korviin asti vedetystä peitosta…
ihan vain kauniista vanhanaikaisesta joulurauhasta… Joulumieltä sydämeesi!

♥ Das habe ich schon als Kind gern gemacht. Rauf und runter. Gehäkelt. Jetzt aber länger nichts mehr gemacht. Bis ich bei Jane's Zuhause die guten alten Omas Topflappen gesehen habe. Sie hat seit dem viiiiele schöne gehäkelt. Ich nur ein paar, die ich gleich verschenkt habe - ohne zu fotografieren... Jetzt habe ich auch schonmal EINES für mich:


♥ Up and down. I used to love doing that as a child. Crocheting up and down. Lately been doing other thiings. Then, some time ago, I saw at "Jane's home" those good old grandma's pot holders. Since then she has crocheted soooo many beautiful ones. I only a few that I've just given away - with no pictures taken... Now I have at least ONE for me too, in grey.


♥ Rakastin jo lapsena ylösalasvirkkausta. Ylös ja alas. Viime aikoina en ole paljon virkannut, muut jutut on olleet etualalla. Kunnes Jane's näytti vanhat kunnon mummon pannulaput, joita hän on virkannut: paaaljon ja kauniita! Minä oeln tehnyt vain muutamia, jotka olen heti antanut lahjaksi - enkä muistanut kuvatakaan... Nyt minulla on sentään jo yksi minullekin!

Seit ich die Lichttüten bei Alexandra gekauft habe, möchte ich so 'was in der Art nachmachen. Nun hatte ich den passenden Stoff dazu. Absolut leicht und frühlingshaft. Hast du übrigens Nora's schöne Dinge schon gesehen?

Since I bought those "light bags" ;-) from Alexandra I want to make sothing like that myself. Nora made some beautiful ones already. Now I've found the perfect fabric, really light for those lights... Not quite ready yet, something's still missing...

Christmas guest

Unser erstes Weihnachtsgast, das Würmchen... 

...haben wir beim Aufräumen in Kleintochters Zimmer gefunden. Sie hat es selber vor ein paar Jahren mit 10 oder 11 Jahren gemacht: tagelang gehäkelt was das Zeig hält, voll gestopft und mit Filzmotiven und Glitzerpailletten beschmückt. Nur beiden Glitzerteilen habe ich ein wenig dürfen. Das Würmchen wird bei uns in der Sofaecke wohnen bleiben - ich finde es sooo lieb!

Cleaning the room of our younger one, we found this sweet snake, she made herself some years ago, at the age of 10 or 11. She crocheted every day to get it ready. Only with the glittering parts I was allowed to help her a little. I find it so adorable! The snake will stay living in our couch corner!

Nuorimman tyttären kaapin siivous toi päivän valoon tämän maailman ihanimman matosen, jonak hän itse teki muutama vuosi sitten, joskus 10-11 v. ikäisenä. Hän virkkasi koukku savuten monta iltaa, ompeli huopakoristeita ja vain paljettien kanssa sain vähän auttaa. Olen aivan ihastunut tähän "uuteen" asukkaaseemme - ensimmäiseen jouluvieraaseemme! - hänen täytyy ehdottomasti jäädä asumaan sohvanurkkaukseemme!

Frühjahrsputz + neue Kleider - cleaning & decorating

Da ich immer noch nicht die hübsche Schürze genäht habe, und meine weiße Porzellanflasche (gedacht für Ketchup oder Senf , ich habe Spülmittel drin) mich schon lange Änderung flehend angeschaut hat, habe ich mich gerne - wieder mal - von Betty anstecken lassen und zu meinen Keramikfarben von CreaDirect gegriffen. Liebe für Keramikfarben ist nur eine der vielen Lieben, die ich mich mit Betty teile, gell Betty? Mir schweben ein paar andere Ideen auch noch im Kopf, aber ich muss warten, bis ich noch eine weiße Farbe bekomme, um das dunkle blau aufzuhellen... Gut so, denn meine Liste der zu erledigenden Sachen ist ziemlich lang. Ausserdem widme ich die nächsten Tage wieder intensivem Lernen in Seminaren. Kurze Blogpause also auch bei mir, bis nächste Woche, macht's gut!



In Heidis wunderhübschem Blog My home and Life sah ich eine entzückende Idee für meine langweiligen Stühle. Auf die to do -liste also... im Moment muss ich auch Nähen wirklich auf der Liste lassen, leider. Das ging gerade noch: ganz schnell genäht waren neue Polsterüberzüge für meine Korbsesselpolster: Stoff aus Ikea Fundkiste, Naturleinen + ein paar Knöpfe.



Wenn ich schon einen Korbsessel umgezogen habe, dann den zweiten auch: ich liebe meine uralten weißen Polster mit selbstgehäkelten Spitzen immer noch, die Decke hat meine Kleine letztes Jahr mit 12 in der Schule genäht. *brustrausvorstolz* Schön, oder?!

I liked the idea of Outi so much, I wanted to sew an apron for my washing up liquid... I haven't... I still have my liquid in a porcellain bottle originally though for ketchup or mustard ;-) - and I think daily (!) on decorating the bottle. Betty inspired my - one more time - to get my beloved CreaDirect colors. Loving to decorate porcellain is just of of the creative passions Betty and I seem to share... Right, Betty? Other ideas I have in mind will have to wait till next week. The to do NOW! -list has to get shorter first... AND: the next days I want to concentrate on learning in seminars again. Until next week then, have a nice week!

In Heidi's lovely blog My home and Life I found a beautiful idea for my boring chairs. At the moment I'll just have to write it on my to do list... Changing the clothes for my rattan chair was quickly done, one of those "quick crafts for sanity" -projects ;-) A couple of fabrics out of Ikea leftover, nature linen + some cute buttons. Also the second rattan chair got fresh clothes on: I made the white cushions with self crocheted lace several years ago and still love them, the plaid was made by my younger daughter at school last year (she was 12 yrs then! *proud of her*), isn't it beautiful?

Es hat mich nun endgültig voll erwischt - Spitzenfieber...
Da ich so stolz darüber bin, was ich gestern geschafft habe, muss ich es euch schnell zeigen! Die hier habe ich mir passend zu dem Armbändchen gemacht und weil es so viel Spaß gemacht hat, gleich mehrmals und in mein Shop gestellt, könnten ja jemanden anders auch noch gefallen. *hoffesehr* Zur Gößenvergleich: der Knopf hat einen Durchmesser von 7 mm.

I'm so proud of these tiny little things I made yesterday, I'll just have to show them to you. You must know: It's got me! Lacefever... I've made myself these earrings to go with my bracelet and as they were so much fun, I made some for my Dawanda shop as well. *hoping*. To be able to imagine the measures: the button has a diameter of 7 mm.

Nun habe ich mich getraut, noch feineren Garn mit Häkelnadel 1,00 auszuprobieren... Aber da hilft mir meine Gleitsichtbrille auch nicht mehr *g* Wenn ich da unter dem Brillenrand runterschiele, sehe ich aus wie meine Oma...

Hey, diese Spitze muss ich wohl für den Banner ausprobieren, obwohl ich die alte Spizte von meiner Großmutter schon sehr gern habe!

Habe tatsächlich etwas gehäkelt, nach sooooo langer Zeit. Ach! Passend zur zarten Stimmung hatte ich ja schon letzte Woche ein neues Projekt angefangen; ich möchte wieder krakelieren. Und so wie ich mich kenne, wird wieder alles Mögliche "alt gemacht" und so wie es im Moment aussieht, eher in weiß ;-) BLAU in all seinen Schattierungen ist mein all time favourite aller Farben, aber eigentlich mag ich sie alle. Zur Zeit gefällt mir halt ganz besonders dieser weiße, "nordische" Stil.

Been crocheting last night and today afternoon, it felt so nice after suuuuuch a long time.
The new "project" I started last week goes perfectly with these sweet things, more or less all in white at the moment. BLUE is my all time favourite of all colours, in all its different nuances... but I actually like all colours. At the moment I'm in love with this white "nordic" kind of sweetness.

Dieses Deckchen habe ich vor Jahren auf dem Urlaub im Süden gehäkelt. Bringt mich immer in gute Stimmung...

This doily is something I've made years ago during the summer vacation in the south. Allways makes me feel good...

Ich weiß, meine neuen Polster warten auf etwas zum Aufpeppen undwollte da ein paar Spitezn drannähen. Sie sind aber eh schon weiß, und können vielleicht noch warten, denn für die etwa 20 cm für's Handgelenk brauche ich nicht so lange als für ein 40 cm breites Polster *g*

My cushions for the sofa are still waiting for something the make them unique... Yes, I know I wanted to make some lace for them. But they ARE white and thus able to wait a little: it takes more time to make 40 cm lace for the cushion than just about 20 cm for a bracelet, right?
